Artist Statement

For my printmaking project I engraved a Dallas Mavericks logo that was used in the 1990's. It featured a basketball with the letter "M" in front of it. On the letter there was a cowboy hat.

I created this art piece because I am a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks. I Have been a fan for more than 10 years. To make this project we used intaglio printing. It was my first time using this technique so I was not experienced with my chosen media. The end result was not like I expected. I forgot that when you use letters they have to be reversed.

In conclusion, this was probably my favorite project we have done all year. I enjoyed the process of sketching and putting it through the roller.
